Our Purpose

Co-founded by breast cancer ‘thriver’ Doug Harper and health psychologist Dr Kerry Quincey in October 2020, The Men’s Virtual Meet-Up (VMU) is a monthly meeting on Zoom for men who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s a place where they can talk openly and share their experiences with other men - to know that although breast cancer in men is unusual - they are not alone.

Until recently there was very little information about the disease but The Men of The VMU have worked tirelessly with charities, NHS, clinicians, researchers, and press, to raise awareness of the disease and are passionate that this continues. Thankfully with so many groups working together this is now changing, but there is still a long way to go.

Our website aims to bridge this gap, acting as an informative resource for the men, their families, as well as anyone with an interest in breast cancer in men.

If you are able to support in any way, please get in touch and most importantly, if you are a man who has been diagnosed, please do come along and join one of the meet- ups. The wealth of experience that the men have to share is priceless.
